Lately I have been putting some focus onto 'sharps and flats.' This means that the string will come out with a different pitch than usual. I find it quite interesting when the more pressure I put onto the strings, they will come out with a different pitch. The note I have in the picture above is a C sharp. I place my second finger onto the second note. A piece in my book says, " The more pressure you place your finger onto the string, the higher the sound," (Guitar method book, 47). I tested this on many other strings and it was true!
Another piece in my book says, " The thicker the string, the lower the noise," (Guitar method book, 52). I realized this when I examined the different notes, they all sounded different because they were all different thickness. The skinnier strings like the note my finger is on in the picture above, has a higher pitch than the very far left one. From this experiment, I've learned more about pitches and different kinds of chords and notes. From this, is it possible to make the notes sound deeper and lower?
