Image result for nature pictures taken with iphone
This was a picture that I took at my grandma's house when I went to go visit her. I like this picture because it is dark but shows everything that I wanted. I love this picture because the color of the sky is the perfect color. I took this picture by standing on top of chair and I wanted to get the outline of the trees in the picture. The trees were my main objective to show and the sky was my background in this picture. I took this picture with the help of the book Photography by Barbra London. In the book she states "As photographers, we all learn very early on that light is our best friend. That’s why it’s so scary for many of us when we’ve got camera in hand, and the light starts to fade. Most just pack up and go home. Unfortunately, that’s also when the real magic happens. Yes, it does take some practice and a few basic tools, but shooting 'in the dark' can be fun and exciting, and create incredibly dramatic images. Don’t be afraid of the dark. When taking pictures in the dark you want to try not to use flash. Using flash can sometimes and most of the time will play with and mess up the lighting or the object in your picture (London 48)." This evidence helped me because I always used flash when I was taking pictures outside in the dark. However, when I took my picture it usually turned out very bad quality and was very white and not clear. After reading this book I realized that the flash was the problem and taking away the flash helped me achieve the picture that I wanted which is the one I have attached. The book also said "When taking pictures of the sky, the best time to take pictures is usually golden hour. However, taking pictures after golden hour can also be a good idea. But there are many tips and tricks that you should remember. 1) You should always use the sky as your background when taking nature pictures. The sky is a beautiful background and a great resource that many people don't use or take advantage of (London 57)." This evidence helped me realize that the sky is a great resource and a perfect background which really helped me with this picture and getting the outline of the trees.
