"The science of hitting" Blog 3

On this page of the book, we are talking about hip action. "You are cocking your hips as you stride, and it's so important to get that right." (Williams 45). The hips are one of the most important components of generating power to your swing. Before your hands, your hips come first when swinging the bat. If your hands go first, then there's not point in using your hips anymore and you just lost a lot of power in your swing. Hips, then hands, a major key. This was a bad habit that I use to have when swinging, not using my hips. When I rotated my hips before my hands, immediately I felt a huge power difference. It also felt a lot more natural too.

Question: If you have not achieved the success that you would like to, what's holding you back? Is it yourself or can you really not control this obstacle?
