For my last picture I took a picture of the rain. I took this picture today from the car. I really liked this picture because the rain is my main object and the sky, car, and building make a great background. Out of all the pictures I took for the IRP I think that this one was my favorite because I really love the rain and I just really like how this picture focuses on the rain and blurs the background because that is my favorite technique to use when taking pictures, especially nature pictures. To take this picture I had some help from the book Photography by London Barbra. The book states "If you want the foreground in focus, tap on something close to the camera. Want the background in focus? Tap a background subject. If most of the objects and people are about the same distance from you, this won't matter very much, and you can reply on the cameras autofocus to do the work for you. But if you have something very close and somewhat distant, you can definitely affect what's in focus (Kingsolver 88)." This evidence was very helpful when taking this picture because it taught me where to click the camera in order to get the camera to focus on the object I wanted and how to get the camera to blur the background but still make the picture look good. This was my favorite picture to take and was my favorite picture in all that I took and I think that this was definitely my favorite technique of taking pictures and I highly recommend trying it out.
