Stretching and warming up is the most important thing of track and any other sport. It is important that you are properly warmed up so you don't get injured from cold muscles. Also so you are warmed up so you can perform at your best ability. The stretch that I am doing is called the Knee to chest stretch, this stretch is important because it is focusing on stretching the hamstring. It is important form all muscles to be stretched out and extra important for the hamstring because it is a big important muscle the requires proper care. The hamstrings are among the muscles that are responsible for running fast. The hamstrings are involved in 2 very important running motions one which is knee flexion and the other which is hip extension. Without the hamstrings for example if you pull a hamstring you will not be able to run and not even walk in some extreme cases. Overall it is very important that you warm up before each workout also stretch after workouts to keep muscles loose and prevent all injuries.
