I chose the book, Embroidery A Step-By-Step Guide To More Than 200 Stitches because I have always had an interest in embroidered clothing but i never had thought about trying it out. I always loved to watch my grandma embroider at times, so I decided that I should try it out and learn something new as well. One of the first things that the author Lucinda Ganderton says is that a lot of time and care will be invested in creating a finished piece of needlework.
The first thing I did was mount the fabric into the frames. It took some time to get the frames to fit properly. But after that it was pretty easy. If you draw an outline of the shape you are going to embroider then it's easier to stitch because you know about where to put the needle. The stitching part was easy because the holes in the fabric make it easier for you to see where to put the needle next and keep the shape of your design steady.
It took me awhile to finish embroidering this shape but I kind of like how it turned out even though it is a bit off and not too steady. Since this was my first time doing this I don't mind too much of how the design looks but hopefully next time it is a bit better. How did you like this design, and what do you want me to do next?
I think this looks really nice, how long did it take you to finish? I'm not good at embroidery because it's kind of hard but your leaf turned out really well so I am impressed. I think next you should embroider a flower.
